Fantastic Ferrari Friday – Supercar Saturday is here!
Despite almost continual rain yesterday Horsham and Dorking’s Piazza Italia Rally staged incredible scenes as Ferraris and Ducatis roared into Horsham in almost incredible numbers. 30 Surrey Ferrari owners club cars left Dorking High Street’s La Dolce Dorking (festival continues to day) and joined another 30 Ferrari’s from Sussex and Kent that travelled through Pulborough and Billingshurst on their way to Horsham. The 60 Ferrari’s were greeted by huge crowds of excited people on their arrival in the centre of Horsham. The Ferraris were joined by 60 Ducati Italian Motorcycles from the Italian Garage in West Chiltington, West Sussex.
The fever pitch entertainment continues today as Alfa Romeos and Italian Super Cars thunder their way into Horsham town centre from Rusper and Southwater (respectively).
All planned entertainments and attractions in the town centre will continue today including, the Italian market, Scalextric Italian Challenge, Italian Job film celebration, Ducati Roadshow and ride outs for clean licensed drivers and the Bridgestone FI Ferrari and simulator.

Town to support Red Cross at next event
Development of Horsham Piazza Italia’s now famous assembly of Italian Super Cars into a fully fledged rally, in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, will see Italian cars and bikes converging on Horsham from towns throughout the South East of England and beyond on Good Friday and Easter Saturday 10th and 11th April.
With the assistance of local Community Partnerships, Parish Councils and Town Managements, the Piazza Italia rally cars will be starting from towns and villages all around Horsham on the Good Friday and Saturday mornings including on Friday – Billingshurst, Pulborough, West Chiltington and Dorking, Surrey and on Saturday – Rusper and Southwater with many of the locations using this as an opportunity to run their own local activities.
The event has captured the imagination of participating businesses and owners of prestige Italian cars far and wide; owners clubs from Surrey, Kent and East and West Sussex are taking part and individual drivers have registered from places as far a-field as Southampton, London, Essex, Suffolk with one Lamborghini travelling all the way from Warwickshire to The Forum on the Saturday.
With news of this week’s terrible earthquake in L’Aquila, Italy the event’s website, www.piazza-italia.co.uk is being rapidly updated to provide a link to the Red Cross Disaster fund who have already sent help to the area and it has been confirmed that the town will be supporting the Red Cross through its next popular event, the Horsham English Festival on Saturday 9th May.
