Kidz Stuff – good for businesses

BUSINESSES are being invited to get involved with one of the largest family events taking place in the South East of England.

The end of May will see Horsham invaded by thousands of young families, intent on having a great time. Kidz Stuff Festival 2009 will take place in Horsham Park and town centre over the weekend of May 30 and 31, with a special day on Friday May 29 for children with special needs together with their families and friends.

Based on the last two festivals some 10 – 12,000 people are anticipated to attend the festival, of which half will be children. The busiest day will be the Sunday.

The festival is organised by The Rotary Club of Horsham together with Terbell Ltd., a local event management company. It is supported by Horsham District Council.

Being lined up are a mass of fun and educational activities for the festival including a circus, science fair, inflatables, quad bikes and many surprises….. and to cap it all, at the end of the festival there will be an attempt on the Guinness World Record ™ for the Largest Custard Pie Fight. Horsham’s custard pie contest is sponsored by Hawkin’s Bazaar.

Going by the success of the past two year’s festivals at nearby Leonardslee Gardens near Horsham, Kidz Stuff will be a huge event for Horsham which will attract a lot of media attention before and during the event.

Local businesses are encouraged to participate in the event and benefit from the influx of people from all over the South East of England.

Those interested in getting involved are asked to make contact with the organisers: email jleross@attglobal.net or Emily@terbell.com

Ways in which businesses can get involved include:

  • participating in a shop window mystery object competition
  • placing vouchers in the event programme
  • hosting a Festival activity in or near your business
  • sponsorship of an activity

The cost of the above starts at only £30 for having a shop window in the mystery object competition (which will drive families to look into participating shop windows) during the three festival days, or for an extra £70 to also have an advertisement/voucher in the event programme and a mention on the event website.

For businesses that host or sponsor an activity, then the activity will be included in the event programme and on the website. The Kidz Stuff organisers will also produce signs and maps that will drive people to the activity and therefore to that business.

There are also opportunities for catering organisations to provide sampling or food and drinks in the park.

Encouraging businesses to get involved, John Le Rossignol from Horsham Rotary Club, said:

“Kidz Stuff in Horsham looks to build on the local relationships and goodwill forged by the incredibly successful first Great Horsham Pancake Race run by Horsham Rotary this February ….and please remember – proceeds from the event will be distributed by Horsham Rotary Club to local children’s charities.”

Further information or to discuss the opportunities further please email jleross@attglobal.net or Emily@terbell.com or call John on 01403 754005 or Emily or Adam on 01403 891 958.
